The moon is big and bright in the sky and I can see mist filling the valleys below; it is muggy and everything is steaming. I am going for a ride today before I do anything else – and if not a ride then I am spending time with the ponies.
The weather has been wild and wet – but not cold – and I have been indoors working on the books and the boys have been out in light weight rugs. The field size is creeping up a little faster than I was planning – but at the same time the compacted area near the yard is slippery rather than muddy and I’d rather we didn’t churn it up.
The forecast doesn’t look too bad for tomorrow either – at least early on – so I aim to ride Flax this am and Rufus tomorrow.
Owls are hooting outside and the ponies are eating their hay and I have had my breakfast eggs – yummy after the last few days where I got absorbed in a work problem and didn’t bother much – and the feral cat has also had ‘its’ sachet of food.
By the time the double decker school bus has forced its way out in and out of Askerswell I can head out, do a loop around the valley and come back through the village or along the lane.
A day off 🙂 and ponies are top of the list; as is getting away from the farm and being outside all day when I get back. Anything but be in the office all day again.
