Writing and Life.
I had a month off from writing, Pod Casts and Face Book Groups. I haven’t had a digital fast but my interest waned in the conversations going on around me and didn’t feel I wanted to join in. Neither, have I set new goals for this year – I am working on the same plan bit by bit and I have started writing, again, on the Lead Magnet story October Mornings for the YA series.
On a personal level 2018 was very difficult with Mum being in hospital and then her care needs now she is home both requiring soul searching and adjustments for everyone here – we also lost Tash and have not felt we can get a puppy or rescue and so all of us are dogless for the first time in our lives. That said we have settled into a routine and I achieved pretty much what I set out to do and more – including a veg garden for first time in 3 years.
I have started riding again – technically in 2018 – and I am rearranging my working day to allow for that – probably instead of my walking the farm – without the dogs that seemed pointless – and was increasingly missed – plus the Plantar Faciitis is still a problem… Riding it seems doesn’t effect that unless I reach for gates from the horse.
I have been watching Bones – all 12 series 🙂 – Media Studies 🙂 Having been a fan of her adult and YA books for years and it has been fascinating. And yeah – vegging out on the couch suited my mood.
I have cracked on with October Mornings – and the idea is to finish that and revise the first book in the series and edit it then look for another Editor as the one who has been helping me is busy with her own work now. I hope once I have used her advice on October Mornings and In Plain Sight that I can get them edited while I bring the other books in the series up to the same standard – it may be possible to publish this year on the run up to Christmas.
I am very nervous about contacting Editors again – so I should get on with it – last year I was happily talking to folk about this and then Mum went to hospital and I stopped trying to get anyone involved as I couldn’t commit to having them in my schedule with Mum as she was. It sort of feels tied up in my head ‘I did this and then that happened’ which is unhelpful and not true – so I need to get over that script 🙂
