Organise and Prioritise
Identifying priorities.
Time is not infinite. COVID Lockdown gave me the chance to get going and sort out quite a lot of things and also allowed me to tinker with other creative outlets I hadn’t considered for some time – like painting – Gordon did the window sills and I did watercolours.
Now he is almost back to work I am looking at the choices and priorities for me. I did not have a vegetable garden capable of growing veg before Lockdown – I do now but also have a previously known deer problem so my keenness to spend too much time growing veg is diluted. But I will spend some time on it.
The ponies are still really in Lockdown – or more likely locked in – as the grass on the exit fields exceeds my leg capacity to walk through leading them and my arms are already suffering tendon issues so dragging greedy ponies through the long grass is unappealing and horse flys are about to start and Rufus will start to get sweet itch more than he has now so though I would like to ride as I haven’t since Oct 2019 realistically it’s not going to be enjoyable till the middle of August at the earliest when hay is cut and then probably only with Flax.
My health and fitness are not great – fields are thick with grass and that is either wet or just yucky to walk in and I have not run or used ex bike or done Yoga – I do have a flat area now where I can do Yoga and set up the ex bike and or skip etc so this would be a thing to prioritise before August and potential riding.
Ditto my diet is appalling – we had a Chinese take out last night and today I had reheated Chinese take out for breakfast and lunch… Shopping once a week and then cooking lunchtimes during Lockdown for all of us and now not but as Gordon is doing different work he is in and out and having food here I haven’t planned for is leaving me snacking and not bothering. This is a priority I seem to be the end of the line for health and welfare here and then I don’t bother.
Regarding the writing, I have LHR to get ready which I was working on before but I also want to make time for other new writing to give myself a break from the older material and keep me creative.
And I also want to make time for other creative things like the drawing and painting and the thread work. I can’t do the upholstery I was going to do as the shop is closed right now and I might need more help than they can give under the circumstances and popping in and out with chairs might not be that easy.
That leaves the Blogs. Not been an auspicious few months as each time I have come to blog Jet Pack had let me down. I cannot allocated time and money to new websites without Jet Pack and so I must soldier on till books 0 and 1 have been to Editor and then reassess so am stuck with Jet Pack till then. Best I can say is I will spend some time blogging about what I am doing but not fall in to the hole of changing things unless blogs actually stop working.
