I’ll qualify that – I am having unreliability issues with Word Press App which I use on my W10 lap tops, iPhone 8 and an iMac. The Jet Pack thing keeps breaking and I am advised to dump it by Sam at Web Site Right, who helps me keep these sites bumping along the run way pre book launch.
‘Suddenly For No Apparent Reason’ other than lurking W10 updates on both lap tops the Desk Top App won’t open. I have reinstalled it and it still won’t open – except that down in the Start Menu area there is a small version of the icon and that opens. Took me 10 hours to find that out. And I wonder why my Blogging has become sporadic!
No one reads these things and I am doing it for fun. LOL. Fun it is not.
What I want to do/ wanted to do was learn to design and set up the Blogs – I did that and yes, Sam may have to put in better more modern themes and a shopping cart for me but it isn’t cost effective to do it now while I am still writing and editing books and have no Lead Magnet ready or Book 1 and Book 2 at least before I do launch…
Mean while I quite ‘enjoy’ keeping a public record of what I am doing – technically I am publishing so it keeps me aware of a potential audience and that is good practise and also there is the production schedule which is also good practise except that these niggly problems dog the exercise – last year and some of this year the issue was Broad Band and soft ware clash/weakness in uploading photos to the Blog Libraries – I have adapted my process when I take photos and now up load to Drop Box as and when I take the photo but now we have this other ‘thing’ the desk Top icon that doesn’t respond.
There is no consistency. Now I know that W10 is annoying with it’s updates – if only it would send a note to say there was one pending – my lap tops all did update yesterday but randomly and one ‘sulked all day’ without showing any notification of an update and then eventually announced it hours after the others had done it – I had even powered down to see if it would trigger it and when it re booted the Desk Top Icons were scattered and re arranged ‘as-if’ it had updated.
The unknown- to – be – pending update really messed up yesterday for me as the issue with the Blog Post I did go to post was that the FB connection had broken and then I couldn’t fix it – apparently I did some how fix it but I have yet to see the post appear on FB so today I am forced to spend time on this again.
Choice is abandon Blogs and sites and re do them nearer the launch or not – they are paid for for the next few months but this limping along not knowing if they will work is dragging me down and I am putting off updating them so a self defeating circle. Not a good image to have out there.
