This week all came to a grisly grinding halt as I could no longer delay deciding to put Buddy down.
I have written about this enough else where but from a writing perspective it fills future writing buckets with tears, emotions, and mind pictures – for which writing is the only way back out from the depths, through the storms to the world recycled another day.
The world carries on – it is after all another day.
Other peoples opinions – as an Indie Writer following the content marketing track I expose my life in Blog posts and pictures and when something happens – with Bud – it is difficult to strike the right balance between honesty and maudlin misery. I am aware any one reading this may not have a farming back ground, or their own pets, and like people every where they will have their opinions about ending a life.
Ending a life is never taken lightly by me. Neither would I ever knowingly pass on a sick or unsound horse to another – plenty would and plenty wouldn’t – I wouldn’t . My On Line friends and colleagues have been enormously supportive – I cannot say the same of one or two members of my Off Line community around me – which has resulted in anger, and txt abuses – again – thankfully, most people here also know and trust my judgement. All these things go in the writing bucket because dwelling on them will guarantee I do not get my edit done.
It has not been an easy week but I have done my best to stay true to my beliefs, and values, and not to hurt those back, who hurt me, so thoughtlessly. I am as ever a Work in Progress in the Suffering of Fools and Foolishness Department – due to the lack of availability of personality transplants…
When Brin and Tash, our last dogs, lived out their spans of years and were PTS after long lives and short illnesses I shied away from Blogging for a long time. It is my choice to write on the Blogs about the horses at this time as honestly as I can.
It has been a shit week for writing much at all beyond journals and free writing. I have rearranged my story world to remove a real setting from the MS – and that is a lot more work than it sounds and will be going forwards – it is not a mistake I will ever make again – never use real settings in a MS – years down the line something will hapen and you will never want to write that place again and will be stuck with it – so if nothing else comes out of this week at least I recognised that and – having got behind with the editing – I only have one scene that now needs re doing that I have already done – it could have been all of them:)
May next week not rise up to greet me with a bite on the arse. 🙂
